Hutt River Revamp

Our Challenge
This bridge is an important piece of the overall Hutt River Trail. The concept to convert the berms of the Hutt River from an overgrown wilderness into a linear park with a recreational trail along both banks was the deciding factor for this bridge construction to make the trail a distance of almost 60 km.

Our Solution
The Edifice team prefabricated this 20 metre glulam structure at our yard and it was then shipped to site ready to be lifted into place seamlessly. Once in place, the finishing touches were added, baluster posts and approach spans. Edifice Structures worked closely with the Council and Frame Group to ensure the structure came together as quickly and efficiently as possible. A great collaborative approach brought it together smoothly.
This bridge is featured on the Riverstone Terrace to Totara Park section of the Upper Hutt River Trail.
