The Challenge
This suspension bridge is a part of the Tasman Taste Trail, a track that covers the inland & coastal Tasman area, a total of 168km from start to finish. The structure needed to cross the River between Tapawera and Woodstock. Our team were up for another suspension bridge, having worked successfully with the Nelson District Council on previous projects.
Our Solution
This was a technical and practically demanding structure to set out and build. The towers were prefabricated in our yard and then dismantled to enable transport to the site. All foundation posts and anchors were precast, transported to the site and craned onto surveyed and graded surfaces. The Edifice team worked well on site, and the structure was completed ahead of schedule. This suspension bridge is 57 meters long and a great addition to the taste trail cycleway.
